slug casts

i can tell you this, out of an older bolt action 12 gauge smooth bore with just front peep sites they can cover an 4 inch circle remarkably well.

a .270 in m opinion will get the job done, My first elk kill was with a .270 - 150 grain Nosler Partition at close to 200 yards away.

Thanks for the info's. When I picked up a good Mec 600 at a yard sale he threw in a bazzilion of these 00B hulls.All the hulls look in good shape.Guess I'll be busy with lots and lotsof reloading.

i wouldn't really recommend a brine solution as to you may end up with a very salty outcome if your not careful. You may have touse anoversize aluminum pan or whatever will hold the hind quarter...
