The laminates are heavy, switching to a B&C stock will cut some weight. Save the Laminate for show, they are pretty. Only thing better than an LSS Mountain would be a 700 Titanium.

Nope, I just use my Elk loads for deer, no need to change, a good 225 or 250 grainer does the trick just fine and doesn't bloodshot as bad as my 270 does.

Personaly I think a 338 Win Mag with a tough heavy bullet would do.

That should be a great camera for you. A good telephoto lens will help a l ot with those long distance shots. Something in the range of 250-300 mm will be very usefull. Oh, and a decent tripod too.
