RE: Best scope for 30.06 under $150

The best "cheap" scope I have ever bought was a simmons 3-9x40 8point. $50 new.
I have started to move towards the $150-$220 scopes now because of eye relief and clearity.

RE: Best factory 270 WSM cartridge for Whitetail?

If I were using nothing but factory ammo then it would be winchester since I know of no remington .270 WSM ammo. But thats ok, I reload exclusively.

RE: 22-250 vs. 243

.243 is probably the 3rd best varmint cartridge out there. The 6mm remington and .220 swift would be 1st and 2nd IMO.

Use a 165gr bullet. Why? Because it gives you the best of both bullets. 150gr speed and 180gr knockdown power.

RE: 500 S & W rifle

You must be using one of the lighter loads because going from a 10" barrel to a 22" barrel, the .500 S&W should have around 3000+ lbs of energy instead of 1900-2500.

Why is it that the nosler ballistic tips and partitions that federal use in their cartridges have the cannelure(??) and the ballistic tips and partitions you can buy off the shelves dont have it?
