Shorter recurve recs.?

Im having some trouble with the compound convertion to recurve,mainly the lenth.Do you recomend any shorter recurves?,I think id rather have a takedown.

Both great cal. both differant as noted.also there is some new ammo for the 30/30 which can better the balistics.Im might pick up a 30/30 soon,not sure of the marlin or win.

I have two model 7's .243 and .308,I also had the .243 in a 700 the recoil seemed the same and the .308 is not too bad.these are for hunting not for 50 shoots at the range.
