I may not sound like much, 7 ft FOV vs 4 ft FOV, if you think the difference is trivial, you have never tried to get your crosshairs on a bull elk 30 yds away in some really thick, dark timber.

Got to shoot my uncle's Vanguard a few weeks back. Was a pretty good rifle, and shot well. The thing I liked about over Savage rifles was it doesn't have an Accutrigger.

Inexpensive Remington, Winchester, or Federal ammo would be my pick with 130 gr bullets. No such thing as overkill for coyotes, and you don't need premium bullets for deer.
