Not going to say what you should do, as that's your choice. Good luck with it, hope everything works out.

But people that use this stuff are scum, and there is no way to spin that one. It...

RE: Dog selection help- I've got a tall order here...

I hunted with a guy that had a French Brittany this last year, nice little pointing dog. Don't know much about them, but it's a thought.

RE: Starting a dog?

Like others have said, let him be a puppy and just spend time bonding. We don't start formal training until pup has it's adult teeth in, usually around 7-8 months. Everything before that is more...

Not sure what a 6.5x20 Conquest is, but I do really like the 6.5's. We have a 264 win mag and I just love that gun.

Congrats and good job for putting him down. Sad that some people think head shots are OK on deer.[:@] Bow or gun that shot should never be taken.

RE: .308 or .270?

I think it's hard to say one is better then the other, as both are great. If you can't hit at 300 yards with a 308 then you can't do it with a 270. I love my 308 but know the 270's great also, so you...

Nice stock on the TC there Tom! What kind of scope do you have on it? As nice of set up as that is, I really like the one in the background the best! Very cool rifles.

RE: How do you stop a BARKING dog

We are lucky I guess, as our dogs don't seem to bark to bad except at feedings or when someone they don't know shows up. Also helps that they are on a farm, not really any neighbors to worry about. ...

RE: Beginner Deer Guns

I like all the ones popeye said but would have to throw in the 308 also. If recoil is a problem, get a 7400 as the recoil of mine in 308 feels like a 22-250. Very easy on the shoulder! If you want a...

RE: Youth Hunting

I'd look into a Remington 7400 in 270, 308, 30-06. We started out with one in 308 at the age of 12 (90lbs) and the gun was great to shoot. Very little felt recoil! Have never shot one in 270 or 30-06...

On second thought, it's to small and you really should get rid of it! I'll do you a favor and buy it off your hands cheap!:D:D[8D]:D:D

RE: .308 factory ammo for bear.

Sounds like your hunting over a baited site with shoots at 100 yards or less. The 308 would work great in that setup, as it will kill any black bear around at those ranges. I like the 165's as...

RE: Deer Rifles?

Nothing wrong with the 300 H&H. Kinda think 300's are overkill for deer, but there is no question about it getting the job done. Nothing wrong with buying a new rifle in 270 either!!!;)
