Ok, bad idea... I wasnt sure how bad they really were due to having to pay farmers to hunt them. I figured if they truely as bad as ive heard it would at least be free... any idea what a good self...

Adding feral hogs to your land a bad idea?

Its not farm land or anything.

The reasons are mainly year round renewable hunting practice and free food. I live in Texas, my land isnt anything special with the back 15 acres fenced off.

i agree, i have a .223 for anything smaller than a 95 grain id need, and cant think of anything that needs more than a 160 gr id hunt. i just cant believe the 260 isn't more popular and i hadn't...

As some of you may have noticed, i am on the quest for the perfect (for me) caliber to use as an all around low recoil hunting/target rifle.

to be honest i wasn't even considering the 260 rem but...

not really... if i shot an animal in say the gut with a 30-06 its gone, but a heart & lung shot from a very capable caliber, say... 6.5 or 25-06 it would drop where it stood... so ill just aim...

They seem pretty close, with the advantage to 6.5 on larger game (elk and black bear) and 25-06 on smaller game (varmint) both at (id say the same) long ranges.

Purchased my first deer rifle... a mosin

All my previous deer hunting was done in Iowa and we cant use rifles so it was all shotgunning...

well after doing alot of reading i figured an old mosin was a good choice considering how cheap...
