I just think the GMX expands more because of the zinc a little softer. dont get wrong they both hold the weight and don't fall apart. plus if you have a SST load that you like just put a GMX instead....

I don't load Barnes i like GMX better. I have used H 414 56 grains up to 58 grains and H 4350 56.5 up to 58.5 and IMR 4831 57.5 up to 59.5 H 414 at 57 grains gave me the best with 165 grain...

Lee Precision Breech Lock Challenger Kit is a good chose to start with and make sure you get a Lyman 49th edition reloading book you don't have to use the loads but real good info on reloading.

It will be just fine plus that 300 is too big for antelope. there a small thin skinned animal. that .280 is a flat shooting gun.
