"Actually the 270 Win does have the powder capacity. It's the same case necked down. As far as heavier bullets, to get the same sectional density as the 160 grain .277 bullet you have to shoot a 220...

That makes no sense. The .30 cal bullets are bigger, and have more grains, what are you talking about, did you mistype?
That makes no sense, it's like saying you can get 2780 FPS out of a 30-30...

In no way is the 30-06 overkill on deer, it's THE perfect deer cartridge.

.270 doesn't have as heavy bullets as the 30-06, or such a powder capacity.
