238 Yards ????? I have no idea about inline smokepoles ( which I'm assuming your using ) but I would never shoot that far at an animal with a blackpowder. If you decide to use a traditional flint...

Go with the 54. More bang for your buck. Max effective range for either is about 100 yards.
