It was a tough life, and getting enough food was a big part of that. I'm betting they ate most all of what they killed. They even ate the beaver tails which is all gristle.

Same with any projectile if you want to hold dead on for all the distances...

My dog loves bear meat though, so i'll still hunt for them. He eats a lot of meat. Shooting a bear is easier than buying it.
