RE: Why good form

Arthur, thanks for the info.

It stimulated me to search a bit, and I found these sites. One gives a lot of statistics on bows and show a tremendous variation in them. The other stated that...

RE: Why good form

I'm no expert on Indian history, but I have read a bit about their past hunting tactics. From what I understand, their average shot was at very close range, 2-4 yards. Their bows were not used like a...

RE: Why good form

Yes, but was it an extreme FOC? If so, what was it? Also, where's the published material that teaches others why it was done and what advantages it has? I'm not talking about high FOC. I'm referring...

RE: Why good form

Really? Show me one old reference where someone even spoke of using an arrow with an FOC of 30%, much less giving data showing superior penetration in animals when using it. Show me one instance of...

RE: Why good form

I can get those results with a 40 lb recurve. Anecdotal evidence is proof of nothing. What I want to know is what happens when things don't go as planned and you hit one square in the main shoulder...

RE: Why good form

It's not the guys I'm trying to beat down (at least most of them). It's the format. Anything that encourages hunters to participate with speed bows shooting light arrows, is something I don't like. I...

RE: Why good form

Well Arthur, you had to open that can-o-worms. ;)
I agree wholeheartedly. Form will be less than perfect in many if not most hunting situations, if for no reason other than the fact that hunting...

RE: Why good form

TFOX, I suspect you may think I'm one of those who thinks form is overrated. I'd like to just make myself clear. While some people may overrate it, overall I don't think enough attention is paid to...

RE: Why good form

I think are are some things about form that are critical for hunting. There are other form considerations for target shooters that I think can be a detriment to a hunter.

TFOX, like you said,...
