The few Mossbergs I have handled were "sloppy". The parts seems loose and ill-fitting. Guns were also heavy.

Remington 870 are the tried and true pump shotgun. Very, very dependable.

I suggest buying a Remington 870 instead of a Mossberg. I would top it with the best rifle scope you can afford. I prefer the magnification and objective size of a rifle scope.
