Not knocking your technique BlackLab,I just always liked to set up within about 30yards of my caller or decoy,but I live in KY and a long shot may be 2-3 hundred yards and a lot of times you cant see...

I agree ilyotehunter thats about a 100 yards farther than I do it,but if it works good maybe I'm setting up to close to my caller for the last 10 or 12 seasons,either way good just being out there...
