mtdream is right. Theres goodelk hunting in western montana, dont let anyone fool you to say all the trophys are in the eastern half. Its still elk hunting though. Sure Ill take a eastern MT tag but...

My best advise is to read as many books and articles as you can find if you never done an elk hunt before. Got to remember, elk hunting is not deer hunting. Ive read somewhere and its pretty true....
