RE: Is this really muzzleloading?

Of course all firearms can be dangerous, but I too question the safety
of this particular gun. Aside from the basics of gun safety that we should
always watch where the muzzle of the gun is...

RE: T/C Scout and trajectory

Take1a,
I think in Iowa if you had 50 cal. stamped on your barrel you are
good to go without regard to bullet diameter, but that is a good
question. Iowa has pretty liberal ML laws. If you...

RE: Speed loader

Chap,

Those look good too. I think given the opportunity,
I would opt for the free ones I showed. They are
see through for one thing. They also have
an expanded neck to make pouring...

RE: Speed loader

The cap snaps on and I think it would hold up to
hunting conditions, but some tape reinforcement
might be a safer bet. If you know a veterinarian
they will probably have these little jewels in...

Speed loader

I found a nice little economical speed loader for loose
powder use. I raise and train race horses for a living
and I often do my own vet work. Among my supply
of syringes is the 3cc...

RE: 10mm bullets

These are the blue MMP sabots that we found on the ground
after shooting yesterday. Some of them we found only had
one petal left. I am not saying that is bad or anything, but
I did find it...

PS. That was at about 110-120 yards. I can't find my range finder.

RE: 10mm bullets

My Brother in law shot this three shot group yesterday out of
my A&H. 200 grain HP XTP. Blue MMP HPH sabot. 110 grains
of 777 2f. Win. 777 209 primers. It measured just a tad over
an inch...

RE: Barnes XPB

This is where I get them. From Midway.

http://tinyurl.com/2uenpa

They shoot well out of my A&H. I did kill a deer this year with
this bullet. It was a neck shot though. I did not...

RE: 10mm bullets

Sabotloader,

Dang. That does not look at all like the hammer I have.
Everything else about your gun looks the same. Except
for the synthetic stock. Thank you for taking the time to
...

RE: 10mm bullets

Sabotloader,
Thanks for the advice and the chrono numbers. Is there
any chance you could take a picture of the hammer face that
you use for #11 ignition on your A&H? I wonder if I could

RE: 10mm bullets

Sabotloader,
I have the gun that was supposedly made in Provo Utah.
That's what it says on the barrel.

I don't know where my gun fits into your thinking, but I
think it is still a pretty...

RE: 10mm bullets

Thanks Cayugad and all.

I finally got my sabots and went ahead and shot yesterday.
It was about 15 degrees and the wind was blowing about
25 mph, so I shot at 50 yards. I shot a three shot...

10mm bullets

Just for fun, I bought some Hornaday 200 grain .40 bullets to put in
some blue MMP sabots for my A&H 50 cal. Has anyone tried this
combination? Where would you start with powder? I can use...

RE: Where do you guys get most of your ml supplies?

DD,

I have had good luck with Cabelas and Midway USA. For sabots,
MMP is pretty easy to deal with. Bullets and cleaning stuff is
pretty easy to get. Midway likes to tack on extra...

RE: Buffalo 375 gr. SSB

Chap,
I think the 375 SSBs come in a box of 36. $16.11 is a good price, but
that outfit wants $9 to ship them. Doing a little bit of internet shopping,
I found that $25 for 36 is what you are...

B.C.,

I bought a A&H 420 50cal. this fall. I got it because I had read good things
about their accuracy and I liked the pretty wood stock and they were on
sale for half price from the...

RE: Buffalo 375 gr. SSB

Chap,

They run about $18 - $20 for 36 of them. They come with sabots included.
I suppose you should include shipping.

RE: Buffalo 375 gr. SSB

[

trharder,

For a given muzzle velocity, no muzzleloading bullet shoots flatter than the 375 SSB other than the 435 SSB. The 375 SSB has a LEGITIMATE 100 yard BC of .290. You've shot them...

Buffalo 375 gr. SSB

I have read where some of you folks like these bullets. I confess I did shoot
a box of them through my A&H, but not at game. They were pretty accurate,
but after 100yds they fell faster than I...

RE: Show and Tell time!

I have an Austin & Halleck 420 50 cal. This year I used a Barnes
275 gr. (.451) HP in a MMP HPH12 with two 50 gr. pellets of .777
and a 209 primer to take my deer. When the weather improves
I...

RE: the Latest Idaho News...

Glasgow,
First of all, would you mind revealing your load with the 200 SW that you can
shoot out to 300 yards? I would like to try that for varmints and paper.
Seriously.

Second, Idaho...

RE: Big Conicals

Geoffh,
I think that sounds right. I think the A&H's bore is a little on the tight side.
I am going to try the .503s from Bullshop. When you start shooting your
420, be sure and post about...

measuring device? I do know that a 45 cal. bullet in a MMP HPH12
is a...

RE: Advice on turkey gun please

I was not aware that White went out of business. When did that happen?
I knew that Austin & Halleck did. The White website doesn't say
anything about it.
