RE: Solar Panel mounting to a Moultrie Cam

I mounted mine on the top of a short (6-8") piece of a 4x4 with the top end cut at an angle to point directly at the sun. I personally use a couple of counter-sunk (WAY counter sunk - about 2") wood...

RE: Sunset Silhouette

Yeah. I'm really bummed that I couldn't get the zoom shot.

I bought the house with the view in mind. Surprisingly, I'm in one of the fastest growing areas in the state of Indiana. The good news...

Sunset Silhouette

Looked out the window the other night, and saw a whole herd of deer silhouetted on a berm behind the house. It's not a trail cam, but I thought I'd share it here.

I hope decreasing the file...

RE: what do you hunt pigs with????

You stick one with a field point, you had better be in a tree... ;)

Just kidding. I see your point. Now finding one stuck with a FP would be a completely different matter.

RE: Can a trail camera freeze

I agree that it's probably the battery. I have a solar charger, and during our recent cold snap (highs in single digits for a week), didn't get any pictures. My camera (Moultrie 2.1) status was...

RE: does anybody use ir cameras

Hey Joey - Tell me more about converting a Moultrie to an IR. I'd kinda like to try that. Got instructions? Advice? How did it work? Can I see some samples?

RE: My first game cameras - Stealth I390; Moultrie GS 200

One thing you can do to make it more "trail worthy" even with slow trigger times is to put it close to the trail and point it down the trail. That way, the deer will be moving towards the camera as...

RE: Tougher than I thought.

Don't rely on the corn to draw the deer.Set it up on a well established deer route so they find it easily.

Set the camera up facing generally North in the winter. I've had some midday shots...

RE: Bad Hit Buck

Wow. I've spine-shot three bucks, including two that were straight down (under my tree) shots, and one that was just a poor shot. All three dropped on the spot with severed spinal cords.Kinda makes...

RE: Phantom buck?

Glad to see that everyone else thinks it's a buck and not just wishful thinking on my part. I think that what looks like palmation is actually a leaf hanging from a tree halfway between the camera...

Phantom buck?

My Moultrie snapped this picture of a deer back in November. At first, I didn't think much of it, but the more I messed with it (lightening and playing with the exposure), the more it looked like...

RE: Photographing small animals with Trail Cam

I see it! Just kidding. That's some fast trigger time you have there! Unless he flew toward the camera and then flared away or something else triggered it and he happened to fly in right then, he...

RE: rage broad heads

A buddy of mine killed a doe with a Rage this season. It was the most impressive entry wound I've ever seen. He's got some cool photos - one of the deer as he walked up on it, and one of the entry...

RE: Photographing small animals with Trail Cam

Yeah, he's kinda hard to see in the compressed version. He's straight up from the zero at the far right. He's slightly farther away than the tree at gound level. If you don't know what you're looking...

RE: Our deer sorted by age...

Anyone happen to see the big guy in the background of the two year old at the mineral lick? You can't tell it at all in this picture, but in some of the other shots of this series, it looks likehe...

RE: Let's eee how good you are

Cool challenge. If I wasn't afraid I'd miss a shot of "Buckzilla" because I pulledmy camera out of the woods, I'd give it a shot.

RE: Photographing small animals with Trail Cam

I've captured TONS of gray and fox squirrels on my Moultrie 2.1. But here's one of a blue jay that I caught. I had it set to take 3 pix per series, and there's nothing else on any of the other ones,...

RE: First closeup buck picture with my new Leaf River Cam.

My dad owns the farm where these pix were taken and I've been hunting it for about 26 years. Based on past experience with the deer from the farm, I'd say this guy will be 4 years old this spring....
