I've always wondered the same thing. I've caught them before through the ice but it is rare. I even got a 20 inch smallie through the ice.

I usually go to the local grocery store and makea few casts with a $20 bill and a note saying I want some salmon. Lots of times those little bandits take the bait butonce in a while you catch one.

You should pack up a tent and some food and go out until there is no possibility that you can find her. You may have to walk a few miles but you will get her.

North of Wadena and south of the falls is a 200 mile area and it doesn't line up. The falls is Kabetogama state forest not paul bunyan.
