Oh yes we have used lots that are that breed and my friend you have a pair of good dogs , spend just a bit of time with them and you will not regret it..

Dont get me wrong beagles ar ea good deer dog we still use one
but where I hunt there is alot of water and the big guys tend to run abit then stand out in the water, I like the big dogs then

Another thing I do is after I get a deer or two when the butchering is all done I throw the dogs the legs to chew on with the hair and knee glands still attached this I think gives them a scent that...

Mabye to late now or mabye you have tried but if you can get a hot blood trail that is the time to try him they get a taste for that and all hell breaks loose whenever he hits it again.

Rabbit hunting him will not matter if hes huntin rabbit he knows how to use his nose I have seen alot of great deer trackin dogs and in the off season the guys run them on rabbit

That all depends, What kind of dog is it?
How old is it?
I had my Bluetic in the bush at 4 months and he started then.
I think it depends on the breed and how much time is put into it.

I have shot many deer on the flat out run most of the time ahead of dogs or jumping them in the swamp.Thats how we here rifle hunt.

I have to diagree I hunt with dogs andI am a veryethical hunter,
Besides what would be the difference ,have a dog run a deer past and see how good your marksmanship is or bring them into a bait...

Big on hunting with hounds,
from Ontario Canada up here everything from beagles to walkers,bluetics,
redbones,black and tan and so on
our camp uses beagel,walker and bluetic my fav. is bluetic.
