Mosin Nagant

What rounds for a hog hunt using a mosin nagant? I've looked online at midway and nothing in stock. Going in January and need to look at my mosin as a back up.

RE: Slug-gun question

My mossberg 695 loves the lightfield slugs...everything else and I wasn't getting the pattern I wanted. I would try the lightfield slugs.

Boss,

I to live in Illinois, but when I hunt public land I carry my pistol. It is small enough to fit in the small of my back, and go unnoticed. I'd rather have it and not need it and need it...

RE: Has anyone use the Cabelas brand sabots called dead center

I found a butt load of precision bullets on ebay three years ago (or so) and bought all of them. Something like 300 precision bullets for 35.00. I have 215 grain, 275, 300, and 330 grain sabots. I...

RE: If you were setting up a dedicated wild boar rifle, what would it be?

I still like using my 12 gauge shotgun...maybe because I cannot rationalize buying any of the rifles suggested. I wouldn't be able to use the rifle in illinois anyway.

RE: If you were setting up a dedicated wild boar rifle, what would it be?

You know...if I had a population of hogs to hunt here in Illinois I'd just use what I use on deer. Either my 70# bow, my mossberg 695 bolt action shotgun with 1 1/4 ounce lightfield hybred sabots or...

For the money you cannot beat a mossberg 695 bolt action shotgun. I've got one and I can hit a 3"x5" card at 50, 100, and 110 yards with every shot. I haven't gone further but I know that his gun...
