RE: Bullets exploding in 270 WSM

Ok, first off,I would never use a Ballistic Tip or a SST in a 270 WSM. Sorry, you need a tougher bullet. Wounding game because we are too lazy to do penetratuion tests is simply bad form. The very...

RE: Reloading cast bullets in .44 Magnum question.

No, it wont mess up the rifling. Exsisting copper wash that you have not cleaned out seems to gather leading. getting as much of the copper out as possible is a good idea.

RE: Do you shoot at running deer? check out this video

While I have shot deer running and see no issue with that...I dont particularly consider road hunting to be ethical. I dont think it is wise to shoot with a train rolling in the background. While it...

RE: Remington or Ruger deer rifle?

It will work fine. When considering such a whimpy cartridge as the 7mm-08, remember it is ballistically equal to the 7x57. Also remember that Karamojo Bell killed elephants with his whimpy 7x57....

RE: hard decision own a .223

The really fantastic thing about the .223 is how easy it is to load for. I have several .223s. Two Remingtons, both of which are sub 1/2 MOA rifles. One is a standrad 700 BDL, the other is a VSSF. I...

RE: Recovered core-lokt.

I have been reloading Corelokts for years in my 30-06. They are very good game killers. The major problem with Corelokts is the fact that they dont have the potential for the same accuracy as say a...

RE: Bullet After Leaves Barrel ?

The bullet does change shape in the barrel, since it is forced into the rifling. It does not change shape in flight.

Most error seen on paper under 100 yards is due to the bullet not going to...

RE: .243 Win. questions

Exactly. I have shot multiple deer with the 95 grain Partition and have yet to see any problems with the bullet performance. In doing penetration tests, I have found that the 95 grain Nosler...

RE: AMMO Disposal

Some powders will degrade over time. Some older ammunition have corrosive primers. Having said that, the CMP is still selling surplus 30-06 ammunition. It is still safe to shoot that ammunition and...

RE: .243 Win. questions

I have taken whitetails with a .243 out to 250 yards. I would suggest the 95 grain Nosler Partition.
