bigpapa,I have a ATR100 in 270.It shoots right around 1'' at 100yds.Not a bad gun for under 300.00 dollars.I have shot 3 deer this year with mine,all 1 shot deals.

My 2 would be,243win in a Remington 700sps,and a 30/06 in a Remington 700 sps stainless.The 243 would have a VXII 3x9x40 and the 06 would have a Leupold M8 4x on it

The Prostaffs are a decent scope,But I feel that the Burris Fullfeild in 3x9x40 is a better scope for the money.You can pick the Burris up here on the net new for 150.00 plus shipping

dway87,for your price range I would suggest a fixed 4x scope on your 270.If I was going new I would look at the Nikon Prostaff fixed 4x or the Weaver fixed 4x.Dont forget to look at used fixed power...

I have a Mossberg ATR100 in 270,it is a great gun for the money.It will shot about 1'' groups at 100yds with 130gr remington or winchester ammo.The recoil is not bad for a lite rifle,littile less...
