I would say it all depends on the area. The amount of sign in the area, the weather conditions, the time of season, etc.

you may have missed but that wasnt a terrible angle to be shooting. you definately could have hit a lung because ive seen you make a harder shot than that. you just made a bad shot and that happens...

Ive never seen deer eat them, just squirrels. I dont think it would be considered baiting them if the deer are eating them. It would be baiting if you are moving them from their original spot.

My buddy shot a doe earlier this year in the neck. The next weekend I hunted the same stand, she came by and I got her. The wound in her neck was already starting to heal.
