I know this is an old thread, but Milo Hanson told me directly that the buck was aged at 4.5 years old, possibly 5.5, through tooth wear.

No-till drilling them is the best for food plots and the soils. Broadcasting and lightly disking ordraggingto get them about 1 inch deep may be your best alternative by the way it sounds though.

...very good, especially if you broadcast some turnips into them come mid-July or so for you northerners. A RoundUp Ready corn with this would work well, too, planted as a mix.

Shouldn't that '19.4 lbs' equate to 19.4 points since it was actually 19 lbs 6.4 ounces? ...it was weighed on a digital scale in pounds and I just hadn't converted it...sorry.

I wouldn't attempt a planting of them in the deep sand areas...possibly in the thin sand over clay, but if it has a tendency to inundate, I wouldn't try it.
