RE: Minnesota Rut Dates

I always take the last few days off before the gun season opens. That is as close as you can get to hunting the rut in Minnesota with a bow without the gun hunters in the woods.

I think TeeJay is right. You have never been able to take two bucks in one season hunting in Minnesota. Doesn't matter if you use a different weapon.

RE: Would you take this shot???

No, I would not take that shot. I would be more worried about not having an exit hole, and then having a hard blood trail to follow. Looks like it did the job though.

RE: Aerial maps?

I got mine from Mytopo.com. Very easy site to use. The smallest size map is a fairly reasonable price, but it can get spendy. I will be getting another one for a different area I hunt later this year.

2. Find more stand sites.
3. Start a food plot.
4. Hunt way more than I did this year.
5. Kill a mature buck.

I also use the Carbon Express Maxima. I switched to them this year. I don't use a whisker biscuit so I don't know how it would sound in it, but they didn't make any more noise than my previous arrrow.

I would like to see people shoot a lot less yearlings bucks too. Maybe a does only season would help people see what a year can do for most bucks. I am definetly in favor of some sort of change.
