The H&R seems like an option. Dicks can get them but they are 5-6 weeks lead time. Does anyplace stock them?

That is actually the gun I am thinking the most about. A guy I work with has the 30/30 version with the scope rings that allow you to use you open sights too.

your right. It took a little thinking to realize that if it is a couple inches high at 50 yds that the bullet is still rising at that point and then doesn't seem to drift as far down at 75 yds, but...

Theses sst's show to be zero'd at 150 yards and only drop 6.7" at 200 yards. It will take a little time (and practice) to get used to the idea of a shotgun being good past 125 yards.

yes, I am shooting a Rem. 870 with fully rifled barrel. I agree that it seems these SST's are alot closer to a rifle cartrige than plastic coated ball of lead. I feel that they are my best option...

My 12 ga Hornady sst's say they are 300 grains. My pocket ref. says there are 480 grains to 1 ounce. That means these are only 5/8 oz slugs?

I filled both my doe and buck tag this weekend. I hunt on 145 acres in south east Indiana. This was only my second year of hunting, and the experience has been great.
