It also depends on what your ratio of peroxide is. 3-5% will take longer. It also depends on if you have any bone bruising. Those bone bruises take forever sometimes.

Just use a vaccuum with a hose attachment. Then after that use some "show shean" for horses to add the luster back. You can get this at any farm supply place.

I agree with NCTAXI. Extreme hot and cold can damage your mount. It is more the moisture that will hydrate and dehydrate from your mount causing it to shrink and expand countinually.
