RE: Different Grain-Same Gun

Although I have mutiple rifles to choose from, I often use my 308 for both deer and varmints. I don't bother adjusting the zero. I've found my 150 grain and 110 grain loads shoot pretty well the same...

RE: .223 Barrel Length

If I really wanted velocity I'd go with a 22-250. To me the advantage of the 223 is it's mild recoil and easy of handling in a light weight rifle. I'd go with a 24" barrel max, but a 22" would be...

RE: Bear Hunting - Stainless Barrels

I agree that I wouldn't be concerned about a stainless barrel. As long as you're still and he doesn't wind you, you should be fine.

RE: charter arms revolvers

The company has switched ownership several times since it started. Depending upon the age, they run from decent quality down to down right junk. I've owned examples covering the full range.

RE: 22 Handgun question

I know it's not what you asked, but I'd also go with a light weight 38 special with rat shot over a 22LR for snake protection.

RE: Which one should I buy?

Both are fine guns and do what you're looking for, but I'd probably go with the .44 since it has the edge for deer hunting as well as bear defence.

RE: How many Guns do you have?

I have close to 400. I keep them all in my home at 112 Maple Ave, Roanoke, VA. Although I'm a bit worried about them since I work out of town most weeks and don't have any sort of security system.[8D]

RE: looking for a 22

I'm a fan of the 10/22 for a plinker, but for pure range work you'd probably be better off with a good bolt rifle. For the same money you're more likely to get a more accurate rifle. In the $400.00...

RE: Input on Baikal guns?

Decent guns for hunting, but they won't hold up with extended shooting like more expensive shotguns. I've personally seen a couple of the Baikal guns die on the skeet and trap range.

RE: A Varmint Cartridge for me..... no holds

I'd vote for the 22-250. The .243 does buck the wind better, but the 22-250 shoots flat, is generally very accurate, and has minimial recoil.
