RE: Ruger Accuracy

Ruger's generally have below average accuracy. It ranges from " acceptable" to " absolutely terrible". I wouldn't buy a ruger expecting to get good accuracy. All I've ever owned have fallen into...

RE: binoculars?

Sorry, but $400 ain't gonna get you anything that'll give swarovski, zeiss, or leica a run for their money. It's fun to dream though.

Antlers for me. I really don't care how much he weighs. If I want more deer meat I'll shoot a few extra does.

RE: Why doesn't my son want to use his new BB gun?

In today's society there are all sorts of subtle "brainwashing" techniques going on designed to teach kids that guns are "evil". I wouldn't be at all suprised to find out that he's been exposed to...

RE: Climber vs. Hang on Stands

IMHO, climbers are the only way to go. I've got four of them, two OL'man grand visions, and two Ol'man grand multi visions. As you can probably surmise, I feel Ol'man makes the best climbers. If...

RE: What is the optimum buck/doe ratio?

Even on the best managed ranches in texas the buck:doe ratio is rarely seen below 1:1.5. That's 1.5 does for every 1 buck. A ratio of 3 bucks to every 1 doe isn't going to happen in the wild, maybe...

RE: Shoulder-Mount question? I can't decide ito use a wall plaque behind the mount or not?..input please

With deer a plaque always looks better. When you start getting into the bigger animals like elk and moose they don't look as well with a plaque. A deer should always be plaqued.

RE: Savage .243 Model 110GXP3

Savage makes great rifles but there are two thing I' d think about with your choice. First, the .243 is marginal for deer, so marginal that I personally wouldn' t use one for deer hunting. Yes, it...
