I just went though the same thing last year and ended up with a Hoyt Lazer Tec. Very smooth and quiet, not as fast as the high end bows but a very good hunting bow shooting about 226 fps with hunting...

On E-bay there is a little saw, looks like a mini cutoff saw. RPM is 7800 and comes with a clamp to hold the arrow, I think I will try one.

I just bought a dozen shafts this spring. They shoot well, hit the target hard but are just a little slower than my old arrows. I think they are keepers, can't wait to hunt with them.
