Saw this Boar a couple of weeks ago and decided to go out and get him this morning. Mate took him with a Howa 243, 90 grain factory load from 150 yards.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I have a Winchester Model 61 Pump Action in 22mag that I wouldn't mind an idea of value. Average condition cosmetically, good shooter though.

Definately no ear tags or brands on these ones. Had a good look.Going back in a fewweeks for a crack at the big bull. They didnt see us so should have half a chance.

Never seen a pig take a 243 shot to the head and not drop. Maybe there are some real monsters out there but I havn't found them yet.

Got up early this morning and was duly rewarded. Also got onto a herd of Scrub Cattle and took a calf. Some real nice steaks coming up...

Yep, plenty of toads over here already. Got a 22mag pump just for them. Took my brother out spotlighting last wed night just for a 'quick look' around. Ended upcoming acrossa herd of water buffalo....

Went out for a couple of hours last night and got this little boar. Rifle is a Remington model 700 with custom stock in 220 Swift hand loads, Sierra Game Kings. Very impressed for the first time out...

I have the Howa Lightning in 243 and 308 and think that they are excellent. They both get an absolute beating and have given no problems. Knocked over a couple of Kangaroos and 3 pigs the other night...
