RE: coyote hunting in iowa

Haven't hunted coyotes in IA, but I imagine it's all about the same. Good camo, good calls (Primos, Lohman, Johnny Stewart) and lots of patience. Smart dogs don't run right into a call, and they'll...

RE: Coyote problem

Calling is a lot of fun, but too many coyotes know all about the dead rabbit trick. A group of coyotes howling usually indicates mom and pups, so she is pretty tough to get in. A howler will get them...

RE: Public Land Pronghorns?

Draw areas around Riverton and Shoshoni are great. Lots of public land and lots of goats. If you aren't too picky, you'll be done by noon on the first day, though!

RE: Anyone hunting or have hunted elk in the southern part of Colorado?

Area 70 is west of Telluride and has a lot of federal land. Lots of elk, lots of deer (draw only, but worth it).

RE: bobcat,coyote???

I called a lion in once...big mistake. If you must, bring an extra pair of pants with you! It'll raise the hair on the back of your neck. Calling bobcats takes a lot of patience, like the others say,...

RE: First time out and I'm HOOKED!

For cryin out loud don't tell anyone else how much fun coyote hunting is! Call sour dogs are tough, and ones that get called and shot at and missed just keep us in coyotes! Seriously, just missing...

RE: Coyote hunting help

Yeah, I'd go with the calls, but I wouldn't set up in the same place every time. Maybe a woodpecker or something besides the old mangled rabbit call, or if your coyotes are anything like these...

RE: Predator Hunting ......Help!!!!

I hunt coyotes out west (CO and WY), so I don't know if I can help much. I use hand calls (Primos Bear Buster, Johnny Stewart PS2, Lohman Howler). I did just get an electronic call, but only until a...

RE: moving to wyoming

You lucky dog! I lived in WY for several years before moving to CO. Let me know how the coyote hunting is south of Jeffrey City. I killed 66 in 30 days up there. Good luck and hunt all you can!

RE: Coyotes 22 mag/17 hmr/22 lr

I'm new to this forum, but not to hunting coyotes. Good calling and good camo means you can kill dogs with a 22 rifle, or even pistol. You should be able to get them within 20 yds if you are careful,...
