RE: Be Honest, Have you ever hunted without sighting-in?

Never. I could never feel comfortable without knowing my rifle was shooting correctly. That includes my back-up rifle.

RE: HUNTING DEER BEDING AREA

I agree with with Motown. If you put pressure on a bedding area the deer will move out. They like to feel comfortable and safe. Consistent pressure will move them out and into another area. However,...

Additionally it makes a big difference in shooting animals on the big...

Lyme disease comes from the deer tick. It is a very small tick and rather hard to see, especially with my eyes. You definately should get checked out. I had two family members die of Lyme disease in...

RE: hunting tip

I also know a guy that uses the tarsal glands. He freezes them in plastic bags till he is ready for them. I just don't use scents but do use calls. Found them particularly effective in PA and IL.

RE: Scouting

You can learn something everytime you go in the woods. Everytime I have a chance I'm out there. The more you learn the terrain the better hunter you become.

RE: Unbelievable Animal Rights Whackos!

All of this will continue to get worse. Hunting is a particular target and most anti's don't understand it and newspapers that report it always take the Anti's side.

RE: 150gr for .270?

My 270 will shoot the 150 gr about and inch higher then the 130 gr at 100 yards. That is out of a Mod 70. The ammo is plain Rem Core-Lokts.

RE: Mossberg 500 vs. Remington 870

I have owned two Mossbergs and never had a problem. Between my boys and I we have 7 Rem 870's and 6 Win 1300's. All of them will do the job. If I had to pick just one it would be the 870.

The 270 is my alltime favorite and I have shot several elk with it without any problem. But, I feel the 30-06 is a better elk gun and has the versitility to do whatever you want to do.

RE: Should hunting over bait be illegal in your area?
