Rut around Texas in the upper half of the state is around the middle of November to around Thanksgiving. The more south you go the later it gets. I'd say upper is draw a line through the middle.

Medium should work unless you are using a 50 mm objective scope. I use the Talley Medium unit and have a Bushnell 3-9x40 on it and works great

Just for fun I shoved one of these down the pipe of a clean barrel. Took little to no pressure at all to send it to the bottom and out the breech. It was actually easier than shoving a Shockwave down...

Try the Variflame primer adapters. I found a huge difference in groups when using it. Initial investment is high at I think $24 but you can change primers for pennies and reuse the adapters over and...

Weird Texas Weather

Yeah...those litle buggers can group up and get after you if youare notcareful. By themselves they arn't to bad but get 10-15 in a group...be in a tripod when shooting.

I have a 209x50 Encore Stainless / Synthetic stock. The Encore Pro is nice and expensive. I just bought an Encore Pro stock and put it on my Encore. Definately less expensive that way. I love mine...

Variflame primer adapters are the way to go. Bought the system last year and have shot over 100 times with the system. I use 100-150 gr. Pyrodex Pellets with awesome results. Touching groups at 100...

I use the Vari-Flame adapter from Precision Bullet with CCI large rifle primers. Cabelas sells them. Was skeptical at first but there is definately accuracy improvement over shotshell style primers....
