When your in the tree stand, keep a close watch on wind direction. No use to watch where your sent is being carried. Elk have asuper nose.

Did anybody see Jim Zumbo's article on "Bull's Nests". Well I imagine the locales have seen them. A big Monster Bull will not migrate down with the rest of the herd, as long as he can find an area...

I like the late season, because that's when the state boys who haven't filled their tags are beating the brush too. That way you get more elk up & moving.;)

When the snow gets about foot and a half or two feet deep. The cow will come down to less snow, so their calves can feed. Ice, that stays on for days, will also bring them down. Like several hunters...

I found out, the later in the season the better. Heavy snow is about the only thing that will bring the big bulls down out of the high country.
