RE: Heading down South

How ironic...I'm going to Greenwood, NY in four weeks (from NC)for my annual "get-away-from-the-wife-and-kids-and-hunt" trip. It's been pretty warm down here, and the bucks are still travelling...

RE: Something that sticks in my craw.

I bought a new bow last year! It has 50-60 lb. limbs which at the moment are maxed out. I'm approaching fifty and my last bow had 60-70 lb. limbs, which would have become a problem for me later in...

RE: Tred Barta... NOT the hard way

My two cents: He definitely has a talent for building and shooting primitive archery equipment, although I did see an episode where he couldn't judge distance well enough to shoot a fixed target at...

That wasn't a fake photo, but the weight was actually about 275! I read about that buck a few months ago, but to be honest I can't remember where. What I read was that the buck had some type of...

RE: "Cull buck" thoughts

Okay, so some of you don't like the term "cull buck". What should they be called? I don't profess to be an expert hunter or tracker, but I have enoughvenison in my freezer to last until next season,...

RE: Shooting spikes= Good management?

Where I hunt, we shoot all big bucks (2 1/2 or older) that have stunted (twisited, small, etc.) racks. In the last 7 or 8 years it has become increasingly hard to find these type of bucks on the...

Only on private land, and only if I haven't filled my freezer by the last week of deer season. I don't have anything against gunhunting, but when I arrow a deer, I still get those "adrenaline...

RE: Back in the day

Back in the day the only camo was army surplus "tiger stripes",
there were no wheels and pulleys on bows, and you tied your deer onto the fender of your car when you brought it home!

I've seen some posts on this forum that refer tocam lean on the 2006 Trykon, and I'm curious to know what that is. I haven't had any problems with mine other than the string buzz that people were...

RE: Friendly discussion

The shot has always been the easiest part of the hunt. The biggest advantage of modern archery equipment (in my opinion) is consistency. You still have to get within 20 yards of the beast (or get the...

RE: how long should you wait?

Yo're right to ask for that info.

I hunt in an area that has a fairly healthy coyote population. Even on a single-lung shot I would wait maybe an hour at the most (rather than feed the coyotes)....
