I have a .308 with a thumbhole stock. This gun is very accurate. The Bergara custom barrels on the Optima are very nice barrels. I plan to buy several more. That is another good thing about this gun....

Longest on a deer is about 300 yards. I did shoot my 7mm wsm a couple weeks ago at 600 yards and was able to hit the "kill zone" of the target3 of 4 shots. I'm not comfortable enough to shoot that...

I have that exact same setup and I love it. Great feeling gun and it shoots great. I also have a 308 barrel for mine and it shoots great as well. The bargera barrels really nice.

I've got the extrema 2 with a 26" barrel, but the 24" is fine. Honestly todays chokes make up for the difference in barrel lenghts anyways. Excellent gun though, you will be happy with it.
