RE: Sierra Gamekings.

Good bullets, but too soft in a fast caliber, in a magnum you need a harder bullet, maybe a bonded one.

RE: Best varmit rifle Savage vs Tikka ?

Tikka stands for more quality and precision. But if you want to spend as little money as possible then Savage is ok.

RE: XCR vs. Tikka T3

I have both Tikka T3 and a Remington (not XCR). If you intend to buy a caliber up to .338 I would choose T3. Why I bought Remington is that Tikka do not make any .375 HH. But the Remington is a very...

RE: 308 Win: The Original Winchester Short Magnum

Certainly, this is the case. From such short cartridge to get such outrageous performance is MAGNUM.

PMC primers?

RE: Tikka T3 stripping

Those two screws all you need to take away (and the magazine of course). Then tap or grab the barrel and it will loosen.

RE: The original 300 short magnum!

Hi cma, I forgot to mention that the powder charge for 300 WSM is too little also compared to 300 Win Mag. The comparison I was thinking of is NOT between 308 Win and 300 WSM, but I compared 308 Win...

RE: The original 300 short magnum!

Well, but then the new 300 WSM don´t fill the requirements either to be a "magnum" because it can´t outperform or even match the good 300 Win mag. Only with lighter bullets almost equal but not...

If you mean Sellier&Bellot, they are much better than before. Nowadays they even load with premium bullets. Their weak point in my experience is the brass, not possible to reload over and over again....

The original 300 short magnum!

It have been around already for awhile. Have thought about the .308 Winch, it must be the real short 300 magnum cartridge. Came in the 50´s, burns little powder but gives energy like that long 100...

9,3x62 or 338 Win Mag

RE: 308--the Rodney Dangerfield of hunting cartridges

A .308 is misunderstood and malplaced. It is in fact a REAL shortmagnum. And with great advantages for handloaders, burn much less powder than the .30-06 and gives same terminal performance as this...

RE: Whats the deal with Tikkas ?

I like Tikka rifles, have owned 4 of them. But one at a time, today I have a .308 (sold my .30-06 two days ago). Very satisfied. Like lightweight goodshooting stuff like Tikka is.
