Thanks for the info, I do practice out to 300 with my 270 but i'm looking for a smaller caliber so that my daughter can use it as well, I'm at a point where i would enjoy her killing a deer a lot...

she has not shot anything bigger than a 22 and i want to ease her into it and teach her how to shoot but I also know if she gets hurt by the gun she will be done trying. So i'm trying to be careful.

I hunt in an area where there is a fence line. The guy on the other side of the fence is an @$$ hole and if you shoot a deer he will not let me or anybody else cross his fence to look for a shot...
