i like the .22 better. .17 is fast but very light...

i like the .22 better. .17 is fast but very light and cross winds can throw you off fairly easy at extended ranges. plus with the .22 you can shoot 40gr ammo all the way up to the 60gr subsonic ammo....

30-06 is a great round and you won't be sorry
but a 12 gauge with a smooth and rifled barrel will give you the most bang for your buck
i hunt with a rifled 12 back home in new york and sabots...

most companies make descent barrels for what folks want and will use them for

now bull barrels don't whip as much and are a little more consistant...

both come in 6" + and also barrels over 7"

given the weight and comp on the S&W, along with the really nice beefy, soft grip it wasn't that bad to shoot as far as painfully
