Like others have said, you can't go wrong with the 10/22. Has plenty of stopping power for smaller animals, good dependibility, and good accuracy.

for squirrells and such, 7 1/2 or 8. Then I use 6 or 4 for pheasant depending on what part of the year it is. Earlier lighter, later heavier. But this is in Iowa where it gets pretty cold.
