I shot a 6 pointer this year with a montec, a complete passthrough, the blood trail was good right from the point of impact to the deer which was 30 yards away. I really like the montecs as they are...

I just started using G5 montecs this year and shot a buck with them. It worked perfectly and was easy to sharpen back up. I am done buying different heads unless somebody designes a heat seeking...

the ripcoard is a breat way to eliminate the contact of a wisker bisquit but still contain the arrow for hunting. I really like mine.

I have never split it, I always cut around it then pull it out, if you cant pull it out you can push it out with a stick. I hate dragging them out with the legs flopping around.

28 inch @ 40#, I dont think 30yards is too far but its probubly the max for a humane kill. Keep practicing and make shure you get a good lung shot. good luck in the woods this year.
