RE: is all the snow in upstate new york killing deer population?

Being from the Tug Hill area, I can confidently say that the deer know how to deal with snow that's way higher than them.

RE: NEF Single Shots?

The first gun other than a .22 that I ever had was a New England. I love them and think they're well worth the money.

What's the most impressive shot you've ever seen on a deer?

About three years ago, I was with my uncle at the edge of a big field. There was a smallish buck on the other side, and it took off running perpendicular to our line of sight, on the other edge of...

RE: Can't express the importance enough

Similar story, I have a second cousin who fell out of his tree stand last year. He landed on his head and got pretty banged up, but was able to walk to a house and knock on the door before he passed...

RE: Why are there such laws?!

I see. Yes, I'd imagine that things are much stricter in NYC than upstate.

I don't really have a problem with the people at Wal-Mart not knowing what they're talking about, if I'm going to by...

RE: Why are there such laws?!

I am stationed in Goose Creek, but I'm a little apprehensive about buying a rifle from a pawn shop for some reason.

I'm from NY, and own and have purchased guns, and don't know what kind...

RE: Why are there such laws?!

Wal-Mart had the best prices for the same setup by far, though.

Why are there such laws?!

So I was at the store today, and I was looking at rifles and whatnot. I pretty much found everything I wanted to buy, for quite a good price. Remington model 700 synthetic .30-06, with Leupold...

RE: Hit A Doe This Morning

Same thing happened to me last year, but it was two fawns that bolted from the left, at the same time, and I hit them both, but only going about 5 MPH and they more ran into me than me into them.

Buckshot load for deer?

Every time I've beendeerhunting, I've used one of my uncle's rifles (because he has like a million of them, and I've always gone with him). Problem is, in about a month I'm going to be loving around...

RE: PARKING NEAR STAND

Damn, I've always walked around a mile at the least from whatever vehicle I was using.

Then again, I'm much less experienced than most of you guys, being nineteen and all.

RE: Aim Low Gator Gar Pics.. you gotta see this!

RE: Anyone in upstate NY want to help?

I used to live about 25 minutes away from Watertown, I'd have gladly helped. But I'm in South Carolina right now, and I won't be home on leave for a few weeks.
