RE: Muzzle loader

I recently purchased the new T/C Triumph w/ the speed breech ($379 at Bass Pro). This is by far the easiest muzzleloader to clean!! The breech comes out with a twist of your fingers - no tools...

RE: best state

Describe "best"? I assume you mean big bucks. Anywhere in the Midwest - Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, Kentucky. Of course you can not forget Kansas and Texas.

RE: Kentucky rut

I saw a lot more activity during the early season muzzleloader. You may be right on the "lock down" idea. I know the property I hunt is a fantastic whitetail property. Maybe it just wasn't my weekend.

RE: Shotgun question

That is 100% correct! I personally use the Remington Sluggers, I have shot deer up to 90 yards with these. My dad uses the Winchesters. You have to findout what works for you.

RE: Shotgun question

I use the 870 in Ohio. You can shoot a slug through the barrel, but I suggest the rifled slug barel as well. If you decide to use the regular barrel, use a loose choke- improved cylinder will work.

I will lhave to trim the pic, the file is too large. Anyway, harvesting a deer on my 1st hunt just made me hungrier for big bucks. It did not spoil my attitude towards the sport. 15 years later, I...

I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and am always looking for more places to hunt. Where in Pike County is the property? How many other hunters will be on the property for bow season? gun season?

Thanks...
