Just shoot and hunt with a 270WSM............you will really like it. I used 270 for years and a 7mm Mag for a couple..........enjoy the 270 WSM much more.

Thompson Omega Z5 or Thompson Encore 209. These guns are safe with 3 777 pellets or 130 grains of loose powder, probably a little more.

I had the Remington ML fail to ignite 777 pellets, won't use them anymore, using the Winchester, a lot hotter primer. Use American Pioneer Powder, only use the 777 if I have to reload in the field....

I really like it, I use rubbing alcohol on my patches, then a few dry and it really leaves barrl shinning. Bore butter patch, then it's put up until next season.

Really hard to beat the 08. 25-06 would be my next choice. I think the 7 mag is more than needed for most big game. I have owned all 3. Still own the 7mm-08 and 25-06.

I had4 Remington ML primers fail to fire 2 pellets of 777. Since then, I switched to American Pioneer Powder FFG and Winchester primers. I use 348 Powerbelts (295's sometimes). No problems loading...

Why I use Powerbelts, I'm 64 and not going to rupture myself with sabots.........Powerbelts (295-348) have always been accurate enuff and dropped the deer in their tracks for me.

You will like a break open or falling block type action better than a bolt. Easier loading and cleaning. Look for a Omega Z5 or a Tradation Pursuit LT..........50 caliber.............
