I'd have no qualms about using my 7mm08 on blackbear, or even moose or elk. Make sure you get a decent bullet and shoot it straight. My rifle likes partitions. I'm gonna try some of the TSX bullets...

I think a solid 90-95% of deer hunters use too much gun. Elk, moose, and bear are different stories. I tend to like lighter kicking rifles in smaller than "traditonal"...

as soon as their done cooking drain the water off and place the whole pot in the sink and run cold water in the pot untill all the eggs are cold. Membrane should peel off with the shell.

think of it as a 50yd bow shot. I don't bow hunt but I hunt small game with my handguns all the time. every now and then I'll get lucky and pull off a 75-100yd shot with a 22 but it's rare....

ButchA the sales that are going on now are hard to beat. Either a leupold like shown above or the Burris Fullview II. BUT I wouldn't go over 3x9. it's unneeded. I don't think I ever go higher than 4...

If your looking for an all around gun then 12ga, If your just going to be upland hunting or small game 20ga is a better choice. You can always put lighter loads in the 12 than heavier in the 20.
