Thanks everyone. the 285gr bullets are easier to load now that I've put close to 100 rounds through it. Still need to get a new ramrod. when using this bullet and 150gr of 777 pellets and 777 primers...

One of the best reasons is that you don't have to sift through a huge cloud of smoke to see your result, expecially when hunting. The velocity can't be matched by 777 or pyro IMO.

I'm shooting a Thompson center Triumph .50Cal, Barnes spitfire 285gr sabot with 120gr charge of blackhorn 209 powder. When I chronographed this load the velocity was between 2,230 and 2,254 fps....

He dressed out at 180lbs, and yes after I shot him at about 15 feet away, he jumped into a creek and crashed on the other side. Then I hosed him off because of all the mud and blood.

28 degrees this morning in will county IL. At 0700 I saw a nice 8pointer trailing 3 does, 2 of the does were yearlings, they still had some spots I don't think that buck cared much!

All of this rain

hunting while fields and low lands underwater at least 6 to 12 inches. Is anyone else having trouble with all of this rain in northern IL,or any ideas
