I am getting ready for a multi-day hunt, so I started looking at ammo to stock up. Wow--has it gone up!

Last year, I bought a case of Federal Ultra-Shok 3" 1 1/4 oz. 2s... was $10.99 a box...

RE: Shot my first mounter!

Congrats!! My young lab flushed one for me last October. They are pretty rare in Montana, but I got lucky. He is a mature drake and is mounted nicely, standing on wood in a water scene.

They...

RE: Lead Shot While Goose Hunting

In Montana, as another example, lead shot in the vehicle would not count as in possession. As a general rule, possession means readily accessible: in the gun, in the pockets or within reach while...

Women's wader help

Howdy everybody. My wife is showing some interest in duck hunting with me this year, but I know if I she doesn't stay warm, she won't keep after it, so I'm looking to get her good gear.

The...

RE: Leupold or Zeiss ?

Solitary, you nailed it. I went through all this same analysis over the last week since my World's Greatest Wife:D gave me a new T3 for our anniversary.

I loved the Z-Plex reticle for all the...

RE: Benelli Nova

I have a Nova and an 870. Mine has seen its share of muddy cold nasty days and always works great. Easy to tear down in the field if you dump into the mud or something. Very very fast pump action for...

RE: Burris Black Diamond opinions?

Well, after reviewing all the info here I could find, and listening to some good advice, I went and scoped out some more... um, scopes. :-)

Impressions:

RE: Burris Black Diamond opinions?

Oh boy. Now you really have me thinking. What about a Zeiss Conquest 3-10 44mm or something like that? They sure are clear. The only concern I have with the Burris is the length and the weight....

RE: Okay, it's too light. Now what?

Interesting issue. I just got my new gun, a T3 Lite in .300 WSM. First thing I'm going to do is replace the recoil pad with a Triple Mag. I've used these on numerous other huge kicking guns and it...

RE: Sako 30/378

This is a fine rifle, with the caveats noted above. I have a friend who converts these into a wildcat round he loads, designed for 1,000m shooting. He loves these rifles to start with. I've shot...
