RE: Sighting in a 30-30

I would just make sure whatever bullet you shoot out of your 30-30 is made for a 30-30, asthe bullets are made to open at lower velocities.

RE: Whats the best handgun?

For what it's worth, my Beretta brigidaire 9mm shoots great, looks great, ammo is dirt cheap, AND you can still find 15 round clips to boot.

RE: Scope Covers

I have a set of yellow/amber tinted Butler Creek flip ups and feel that the tinting is too dark, even though they do help with contrast in the woods.I always flip the covers up before I shoot because...

RE: Best hunting rifle, money not an option

If money was not an issue I'd take a look at the Jarrett custom rifles. Good 'ole American gunsmithing at it's best.

RE: 125 g Nosler Ballistic Tip tough enough?

Thank you James B., I didn't realize that they were intended to be varmit bullets. I will mark small game/varmit rounds on my ammo pack and begin again with perhaps a 150 grain Barnes TSX.

(I used a 150 grain bullet at 2260 fps, which is what my Marlin shoots)

If you can live...

RE: appropriate cartridges for short barrels?

OK, thanks for the info! I read somewhere that the 25-06 is at it's best with barrels no less than 24 inches, so I was thinking that maybe a longer barrel was needed for similiar cartridges to...

I have been thinking of getting a smaller, handier rifle for this fall, a sort of mountain rifle in 26 - 30 caliber. The barrels on these can be around 18 - 20 inches, so my question is, what would...

RE: 125 g Nosler Ballistic Tip tough enough?

Lazzeroni used to offer factory ammo loaded with 130 grain bullets, I think they were Barnes. I had some questions myself so I e-mailed Lazzeroni and they gave me some helpful advice.I started out...

RE: A good day of shooting

I've read that bullets can sometimes "wobble" around a center line of flight, I believe it's called precession.Supposed to be caused by an imperfect crown. (No crowns are perfect) Anyway,with...

RE: CZ Model 3

I can't speak for the model 3, but my model 550 Laminate is very well made. Strong bolt, very accuate and the adjustable single-set trigger is awesome.

RE: 125 g Nosler Ballistic Tip tough enough?

I mean would it hold together at this velocity? Gun shoots very tight groups with this bullet, would love to use it for deer, but not if it would fail at close range.

RE: Which Scope?

I shoot a Nikon Monarch, Leupold Vari X 3, and Zeiss Conquest pretty regularly, but the Zeiss' optics are brighter and crisper. Also, the eye relief is constant at all powers.
