Keeping Bow Dry

How important is it to keep your bow dry? What kind of harm can it do? What do you do to protect it?
Thanks

Barrel Mounted Bi-pod

Are barrel mounted bi-pods detrimental to accurate shooting? I would think that they would affect a barrel's harmonics and prevent good grouping.
I had one on my AR-15 and could not hold a group...

RE: Best factory .243 cartridge for whitetail

All I can add is, when I had my 30-30, I tried some saboted .223 varmint ammo that was about 55gr. There was significantly less recoil even though the bullet was around 3000 fps out the muzzle.

RE: Deer Processing Question

I have been taking my deer to the same guy for about 5 years now. When I shoot one, I drag it to the edge of the woods, walk to the house and get the truck, (its only a few minute walk) haul the deer...

What the hell is that? Gibberish? I don't understand a word of it? Can you say "punctuation, capital letters?"

RE: Best factory .243 cartridge for whitetail

Have you tried the 85gr BTHP's on ground hogs or other varmints? If so, how did they do?
Thanks

RE: Best factory .243 cartridge for whitetail

Wow, that is probably the best thing I have read so far in my research. Too bad you didn't group well enough to test the Winchester BST's. I wonder if you have tried these on ground hogs or other...

RE: Best factory .243 cartridge for whitetail

It is interesting that on the Federal website, the 85gr BTHP is listed for use on class 1 animals. Which they say is varmints, predators, small game.Deer consideredlight game, according to them. They...

RE: Best factory .243 cartridge for whitetail

I intend to try those this fall. I have got them sighted in and tried them on ground hogs (95gr) they do a really good job on them too! Center of mass shots tend to gut them. Head and neck shots are...

RE: Winchester Supreme Ballistic Silvertips

It means crap, and alot more. If a rifle is capable of 1" groups or less, then that's what it should be sighted in to do. There are too many other variables introduced in the woods not to go out with...

RE: Winchester Supreme Ballistic Silvertips

Well, the rifle choice is a done deal. So I am working out the load choice. From what I have read, .243 is plenty. And if you can kill deer with it as a youth, why can't you kill deer with it when...

RE: Winchester Supreme Ballistic Silvertips

Wow, of all things good and bad I have heard about Ballistic Silver Tips, I have never heard of someone saying that they DIDN'T expand. Maybe that was a fluke, as I have seen them expand on...

Winchester Supreme Ballistic Silvertips

I decided to try the Winchester Supreme Ballistic Silvertips this fall in my .243. I sighted them in at groups around an inch. I had to try them out on grounhogs Sunday and killed two with amazing...

RE: Burris Scopes

The only drawback I can see, is that when you need it for a close shot, 4x may make it difficult to aquire it fast. Never mind if you accidently have on 14x and need it close.

RE: Tell us about that deer that you "Really Earned".

Probably the time I learned a lesson is the time I really earned the buck. A nice 7 pointer had stopped about 25 yards from my stand. I decided to try a head shot since I had a nice clear view. Well,...

RE: Mild Yet Adequate Deer Rifle

Why not a pump? I have seen good reviews on the accuracy of the 7600. Both hands can stay where they are on the stocks and you may not even have to take your eye away from the scope. Plus it has a...

RE: Mild Yet Adequate Deer Rifle

RE: Mild Yet Adequate Deer Rifle

Wow, 25 years! Have you everregretted a shot? Perhaps one that was not quite the best placementand maybe a larger caliber would have performed better? Or a large deer that went too far after the shot?

RE: Mild Yet Adequate Deer Rifle

I am very much considering the Remington 7600. It is only available in .243, .270, .30-06, and .308. I have seen many mixed comments on the .243. However, with one of the best bullets available, I am...
